MONOFILAMENT FACTS & OUR GUARANTEE
Myth: “Permanent Handle” 10 gram monofilaments are permanent
FACT: The only thing permanent on a “Permanent Handle” 10 gram monofilament would be the plastic handle. The handle is simply a holder for a strand of monofilament material. All monofilaments deteriorate over time and with increased usage lose their ability to produce a 10 gram force. Regularly replacing monofilaments is advisable.
Monofilaments are adversely affected by time, extreme temperature, and high humidity and therefore should always be stored appropriately at room temperature and in a dry environment. They are designed to be used and perform best within 12 months after fabrication. Medical Monofilament Manufacturing guarantees that the monofilaments they manufacture will meet tolerances allowed by the Bureau of Primary Health Care/Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention Program (LEAP). Medical Monofilament Manufacturing guarantees the monofilament will perform within the required 10 gram force range before the 12 month expiration date indicated on the packaging of the product.
Latex Exclusion Certificate - Medical Monofilament does not use any latex in any process involved in the manufacture of the medical monofilament test device.
Guarantee: Medical Monofilament has in-line precision sensors in place testing the filament to ensure the 10-gram force range. Medical Monofilament takes the utmost pride in customer satisfaction, if for any reason you are not satisfied with our product please email us at info@medicalmonofilament.com or Download a Return Authorization Form

We pride ourselves in having a stringent protocol to maintain the high quality product that our customers expect.
